How to lay the perfect patio
Summer will soon be upon us, and it will bring with it the warmth of the sun. It is a time of year when more people will be looking to spend time in their gardens. One key element to being able to do this is having a patio space where you can lay out some nice furniture and sit back and relax. There are a number of ways that you can lay a patio, and here are just a few ideas for you.
Decking – whilst it might not be traditionally thought of as a patio, you can create a decking area that will act as your seating area. It is important that you have this created by someone who knows what they are doing. The ground underneath will need to be prepared and a frame created to have the decking planks attached to it. The planks are then nailed or screwed onto the frame and should be treated with a suitable wood preserve.
Concrete – if you have a large area to fill, you can use concrete to develop your patio area. Slabs – the most traditional way of creating a patio is to use slabs that are held in place by cement. For this, you would clear the area of the patio, flatten the soil underneath and then lay the slabs to cover the area.
